Company Overview

The Leefung-Asco Group was established by the Yang family in 1960. Since September 1991, the Company has been listed on the main board of The Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Eyeing the fast growing market in Mainland China, the Group relocated all its production facilities to a 330,000- square feet new plant in Shenzhen in 1992. Over the next few years, the Group progressively branched out its major operations into Dongguan, Shanghai and Beijing, and expanded its business all over China. In 2001, the world packaging leader, Jefferson Smurfit Group announced a HKD166 million acquisition of a 25% share in the Leefung-Asco Group. Subsequently, in July 2003, the Group reached yet another milestone when the leading Singapore printing group, SNP Corporation Ltd, acquired a controlling interest of 56.42% in Leefung-Asco from Jefferson Smurfit and the Yang family. On 28th August 2003, Leefung-Asco was renamed SNP Leefung Holdings Limited. Subsequently, SNP Corporation Ltd acquired an additional stake in SNP Leefung Holdings Limited, bring its to total stake to 70.11% in 2004. In 2004, SNP Leefung Holdings Limited acquired two profitable pop-up book printing companies namely, SNP Excel (Hong Kong) Company Limited and SNP Excel (Thailand) Co., Ltd from its parent company, SNP Corporation Ltd. With this acquisition, its product range and market coverage widened in breadth and depth. At the same time, its revenue base also diversified, balanced out with approximately one-third revenue derived from USA and China respectively and the remaining one-third from Europe and Australia. The Group is now one of the largest printing and packaging enterprises in China, with total net assets of over HKD 1.3 billion and annual sales of HKD1.0 billion.
